Corianne Rogers is a pre-med major who has fallen in love with laboratory research. A senior in the Honors College, Corianne seized an opportunity to work a summer internship at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and discovered that laboratories hold a special appeal for her. Corianne had her choice of schools, but she chose Appalachian because she liked the facilities, and she felt that she would discover many opportunities. "I'm able to travel, work in special places and learn so much," she says.
Corianne rounds out her intense coursework with involvement in Delta Sigma Theta and the Black Student Association, and appreciates what she describes as Appalachian's family atmosphere. "Everyone here is really friendly," she says. "They genuinely care."
